Model's new apartment is in the NoHo neighbourhood
Gigi Hadid may have spent the last few months in the idyllic Pennsylvania farm she owns with her sister, but the truth is that the mother-to-be looks forward to returning to Manhattan to her freshly renovated apartment. Hadid posted a photo on Instagram on July 25 and revealed that she spent a lot of time designing her two-bedroom apartment in the NoHo neighbourhood of Manhattan, with the help of beloved creative people, especially her mother.
She selected various pieces mostly from fashion designers. The accent piece is a Missoni Mah Jong couch in the living room, and throw pillows by Jean-Paul Gaultier. Paintings by LA-based artist Austyn Weiner – who designed Every x Other’s summer 2020 collection – decorate the walls, along with Eamon Harrington’s artwork. “Welcome, all ages, all colours, all sizes, all cultures, all genders, all beliefs, all religions, all types, all people, you are safe here,” reads one piece of hallway art.
It’s the unsusual details, however, that give the space the model’s personality. Hadid asked Linda Miller Nicholson, the founder of Salty Seattle, to create coloured penne, fusilli, and linguine to decorate her kitchen. Then there are numerous adornments: a rose quartz heart on old copies of Andy Warhol’s Interview; cheerful bedside tables, handmade lamps from Orcas Island off the coast of Washington, a pair of vintage skis and a red cashmere throw by the fireplace...
The most enviable room is maybe Hadid’s bathroom. In addition to a cloakroom filled with Byredo candles and wallpapered with New Yorker covers, the bathroom has a big marble hammam-style bathtub, a rainfall shower, and floor-to-ceiling glass shelves filled with perfumes and skincare products. And just outside the bathroom: A dressing room, with lighted mirrors and an accessories closet. Welcome home, Gigi.
